Lee Bendekgey
Sr. Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel
Mr. Bendekgey brings to Nuvelo more than 20 years of legal, finance and business development experience. Prior to joining Nuvelo, he spent six years at Incyte Corporation where he held several executive positions, including executive vice president, general counsel, acting chief financial officer and acting general manager of information business. Mr. Bendekgey had an essential role at Incyte, managing acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, patents and licensing, as well as leading Incyte's government relations strategy.
From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Bendekgey worked for Silicon Graphics, Inc. in Mountain View, Calif. where he held a variety of legal and alliance management positions, helping the company to negotiate and maintain strategic relationships and providing legal support to all product divisions. Prior to his time at Silicon Graphics, he served as a partner at Graham & James (now Squire Sanders & Dempsey) where he specialized in intellectual property, corporate and commercial law and founded the firm's Palo Alto, California office.
Mr. Bendekgey graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Kalamazoo College and received his juris doctorate from Stanford University.
